The Tower - Sleeps 2

The Tower, recently completed, is a blend of interesting features, both concentric and eccentric, combining to make the most characterful and romantic holiday haven imaginable. Set on the west side of the owners home amidst 80 acrea of contryside, the tower offers a truly unique holiday for two "young at hearts".

The round tower is small, yet spacious for two, with many interesting and tactile wooden features.

It comprises a dining entrance area opening off the main porch, with handcrafted ash table, leading to a beamed circular sitting room with a cracking log stove with an ample supply of logs.

While relaxing in front of the wood burning stove, you may like to make use of the selection of CDs and books we have available.

The Tower is fully equipped with CD player/radio and TV/DVD combination.

The hand built kitchen, while compact, is equipped for your every need with electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, fridge with ice box, washer/dryer and all ancillary appliances.

Up the wooden winding stairs you will find a tiny but luxurious bathroom with deep tub bath and the shower mixer, then on up to the stunning circular bedroom with its unique ceiling.

From the bedroom access is gained on to the balcony, an ideal place for a yoga workout in the morning, a very pleasant place to sit and drink in the views and the atmosphere of Ardnamurchan, or an evening suntrap for a barbecue.

The very nature of the countryside makes this an ideal base for keen walkers, naturalists, ornithologists or people who just love the peace and quiet.

While away an evening playing a frame or two of snooker, or have a good laugh brushing up your table tennis technique ,or burn off some energy in the mini gym - these new facilities are shared with our visitors staying in the Ruin.  Bikes available.

The Tower is ideal for a relaxing holiday at any time of the year, each season bringing its own rewards. After the lushness of summer, the colours and scents of the mixed woodland, the light and the moonlit nights make Autumn a very special time.

Because of the Gulf Stream influence our winters are generally very mild, but the log stove and underfloor heating provide comfort after a brisk walk or the very occasional snowball fight. Ski-ing is available for the energetic one and a half hours of quiet road away . Spring comes early, with an abundance of primroses, violets and bluebells to brighten the stretching days.
