| At the rear of the cottages
we have built a large games room for use of the House and Cottage
visitors. Three rooms cater for most tastes, from traditional style
snooker room with slate bed table, mini gym with various exercise
machines and wall bars, to the table tennis room where the top removes
to reveal a mini snooker table for children. This facility - including
a slightly out of tune piano! - has proved to be very popular with
everyone.
The two storey log fort with slide provides entertainment for supervised
youngsters. |

About the area
The fascinating Ardnamurchan Natural History Centre (click
here for the website) is within easy walking distance of all
our properties, offering visitors an insight to the wildlife and
fauna of Ardnamurchan and also has an excellent tea room.
The nearest shops and post offices are nine miles away in either
direction at Acharacle or Kilchoan. The local bus service passes
through six days a week and the nearest railway station is 30 miles
away at Lochailort. Air travel and car hire are both available from
Inverness or Glasgow airports both of which are approximately 3
hours journeying time. |
| Scotland's Ardnamurchan peninsula stretches out
to become the most westerly point on the British mainland, and a
visit to the lighthouse and visitor centre (open April - October)
is a must, especially on a windy day! The beaches at Sanna , Portuark
and Ardtoe are fascinating for all ages and the ruined Castle Tioram
and Mingarry Castle viewed from a distance, offer a glimpse of the
turbulent history of the area. |
 |
 |
Ardnamurchan is an unspoilt area of varied and unsurpassed
beauty with rock strewn mountains, mixed woodlands, sweeps of meadows
and with streams and waterfalls tumbling down to loch Sunart on
its southern side.
West of us, north of Kilchoan, is the base of a huge volcano which
erupted 60 million years ago, which makes this area a mecca for
geologists and is the reason that the scenery of the area is so
unusual and dramatic. |
New Leisure Facilities for the Tower and Ruin Customers
On the side of our home, Greenwood, we have created a snooker room
with a table tennis top giving an added dimension should the weather
turn inclement or an ideal way to while away an hour or two on a
winters evening. Our elevated mini gym (above the workshop) gives
you the opportunity to work out and the dart board might bring back
memories of a misspent youth !
